From our friend Evan Woodbery covers Tennessee football.
The dark skies and steady rain that hovered over Neyland Stadium this afternoon are expected to subside by the timeTennessee and Georgia State kick off at 4 p.m.
The Vols (1-0) are seeking their 18th consecutive victory in a home opener. The Panthers (0-1), a Championship Subdivision team, lost their two previous games against Bowl Subdivision opponents by a combined score of 119-7.
The field appeared to be draining well despite the rain, which was heaviest about two hours before game time. However, the bad weather could depress today’s walk-up crowd. Tennessee had about 10,000 unsold seats available for this game earlier in the week.
From our #VFL on the West Coast… Swiperboy with his track “Teach me how to Dooley” This should get your pumped for the game today!
